John Longmire Competition Final

Yesterday I competed in the final of the John Longmire Beethoven Piano Competition, which took place in the Peacock Room of Trinity Laban with Professor Leon McCawley as our adjudicator. I enjoyed the day very much and had the pleasure of listening to some really wonderful performances. In the end Paulo Rinaldi, a masters student went through to the intercollegiate final with his formidable performance of Sonata Op. 11. I was kindly awarded "highly commended" for my performance of Sonata Op. 31 No. 2. After the competition we took part in a masterclass with Leon.

John Longmire Competition Prelims

Today I took part int the John Longmire Beethoven Competition at Trinity Laban. The day was packed with pianists performing excerpts from a Beethoven piano sonata of their choice (I perfomed op. 31 No. 2) along with Beethoven's first Bagatelle from his Op. 33 collection. Everyone performed to a fantastic standard making a tough adjudication from American Pianist Daniel Shapiro. I'm happy to announced that I've advanced to the final round of the competition along with 4 others. After the competition we were each given a masterclass by Daniel.
